Dockx launches customised logistics services

Transport company Dockx Group launched Dockx Select at the end of 2017. This means the group can now offer companies a complete range of logistics services from transport to assembly and even the installation of sold goods. According to Mario De Bruyn, a commercial manager at Dockx Group and Managing Director of Dockx Select, it is a welcome and promising concept within the logistics sector.

The answer to the omnichannel strategy

Mario De Bruyn: “We offer retailers and manufacturers with an omnichannel strategy a customised logistics delivery package in the form of Dockx Select: clients themselves determine their sales channel, the manner of delivery, and payment method. We work with pick-up points and offer different delivery options.”

Partnerships for optimal services

“What is the challenge facing our new product today? Finding enough staff for our growing service company. There’s a huge shortage of drivers,” explained Mario. “We’re very aware that we currently cannot independently provide the complete range of services. Nevertheless, we can still offer the best possible services thanks to great partnerships both internally and externally with our clients. So, it’s a win-win situation.”

Technology creates extra challenges

According to Mario, the technical revolution will also create challenges for Dockx Select and the entire logistics sector. “Given all the new technologies, the turnaround to new consumers must be quick because they can choose a different way to purchase items and thus influence flows of inventory. You can compare it to a ship that has sailed in the same direction for years and suddenly has to change course. It’s not going to be easy, but you can look at it as a challenge for the logistics sector that may lead to ambitious entrepreneurship in the future.”
