Together with VIB Vermögen, we have signed a memorandum of intent to jointly expand our logistical real estate portfolio in the German regions of North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen and Hamburg. With this complementary addition of our existing activities we are both able to offer a better geographical reach to our customers. WDP and VIB Vermögen will be brought into a 50/50 joint venture.
Wider reach and better service
The realisation of the joint venture with a 50/50 ratio, which will take place during the coming months, is a logical step in the further development of WDP and VIB Vermögen. For years, VIB Vermögen has been active in the German market and is now expanding its activities to the north, while WDP is enlarging its existing core region BeNeLux to the east. We are both targeting ‘develop and hold’ and the selective purchase of (semi) industrial and logistics buildings for high-end customers based on long term partnerships.
North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen and Hamburg
As the most densely populated region of Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia is characterised by a strong growing logistics activity and is one of Europe’s largest transport hubs. The port of Hamburg plays a leading role in foreign trade with, among others, China. Bremen, too, is a region with lots of potential for logistics real estate.
