WDP Luxembourg Solar

WDP builds solar farm with 100% grid injection in Luxembourg

At WDP, we’re always looking for ways to give back to the community. Whether it’s charity projects or the integration of lush landscaping that adds value to the neighborhoods around our warehouses, positive impact is what we aim for. Our newest project in our Eurohub Sud development in Dudelange (Luxembourg) takes “giving back” quite literally.

100% of power injected to Luxembourgian power grid

Through a subsidy program of the Luxembourgian government, WDP has installed a massive amount of solar panels on some of its newly built warehouses.

Every bit of the power generated through this solar farm is injected into the local grid, providing Luxembourgian families and businesses with a reliable flow of clean and green power.

Maximum flexibility and easy management

The solar farm has been installed on three separate buildings of our Dudelange development. The installation can be controlled remotely, providing the Luxembourgian energy company the necessary flexibility for adequate grid management, in order to avoid grid instability. The energy supplier on the other hand, is able to act swiftly in the case of negative prices.

The specs of WDP’s solar farm in Dudelange

  • Three buildings equipped with extensive rooftop solar farms with a combined size of 4 soccer fields.
  • Maximum grid injection and power production: two rooftops of 1,240 kWp, one of 2,040 kWp – producing 3,938 MWh per year.
  • 100% grid injection.
  • The combined generated solar power is the equivalent of:
    • 196,900 EV charging sessions
    • The yearly energy supply for 539 electric cars
    • The yearly energy consumption of 1,082 European families

Smart engineering

The entire installation has been optimized to take full advantage of the available rooftop space. Our engineers meticulously calculated every detail, ensuring the perfect balance between maximum energy production and building safety.
