On a sunny Friday, September 14, 2023, history was made at Big Box in Evergem, Belgium. It was a day of celebration as WDP, in collaboration with its tenants X2O and Exterioo, along with construction partners and local officials, unveiled the largest interconnected single solar roof in all of Europe. This monumental project has transformed Big Box into a beacon of sustainability and innovation, marking a new era for the logistics industry in the region.

"This project is unique, due to its large scale," expressed Kristof De Witte, WDP's General Manager for the Belux & France. WDP has been instrumental in establishing the Kluizendok as a prime logistics location seven years ago, and this latest initiative further solidifies its commitment to sustainability.

Over the years, the Kluizendok area has seen a proliferation of logistics players, making it a bustling hub for commerce. Alderman Josse Verdegemen, responsible for spatial planning and environment in Evergem, shared his delight in welcoming this remarkable project on behalf of the local government.
