Festive kick-off of warehouse construction for Alliance Healthcare in Veghel

On Friday 24 March 2023, the first pile for the construction of the brand new warehouse for Alliance Healthcare in Veghel (The Netherlands) was officially struck into the ground. For this, WDP collaborates with VDR Bouwgroep. "This is the beginning of a new chapter in the development of Alliance Healthcare and the five million patients we support," says Rob Peters, Alliance Healthcare Finance Director.

The 16,000 square metres will largely be set up as storage space for medicines intended for Dutch hospitals and Alliance Healthcare pharmacies. WDP is betting on a highly automated inventory system in this warehouse. Moreover, the warehouse also caters to the specific needs for securing and storing medicines at the right temperatures.

A fast and efficient construction period

WDP plans to finalise construction as early as the first quarter of 2024. A challenge, as almost as much time is needed for construction as for installing the automation. The warehouse will be operational from July next year. "It will be a busy period," says Martijn Sleutjes, Business Development Manager at WDP. "But we are happy to take the time to celebrate this milestone today.
