‘As Legal Counsels for WDP Nederland, my colleagues Mariëtta, Maud, and I see everything that has even the slightest hint of a legal issue,’ said Martijn. ‘We take care of leasing and sales contracts, notarial matters, or contractor agreements. This is a somewhat new professional area for me because I’m now seeing things from the perspective of the investor and developer. I previously worked at a logistics service provider, so I was looking at contracts from the other side.’

Perfect learning environment

‘I joined WDP at the end of last year. It’s fantastic here! WDP is a rapidly growing international company with hefty ambition and growth objectives. For me, this is the perfect environment in which to learn. Moreover, my colleagues are really pleasant and, fortunately, they all have a great sense of humour. So, it’s never boring. The work atmosphere here is really healthy.’

Lawyer and enterpriser

‘Naturally, I’m regularly at my office reading, drawing up, and amending documents. Nevertheless, the most enjoyable part of my work is the direct contact with my colleagues and our customers. I like it when we discuss ongoing issues together. You can get things done much faster in a face-to-face meeting and reach agreement more quickly about legal matters, some of which are difficult to deal with. Now, that’s what enterprising is all about, seeing how we can get things done together.’
