Fruit and vegetable exporter Hoogsteder Fruit and Vegetables, part of The Greenery, recently moved to a brand-new warehouse in Bleiswijk. It’s just barely two kilometres away on a map, but it’s still a milestone for Hoogsteder, which is centralising its activities in the 8000-m² warehouse.
This year, Lidl moved its logistics centre in Breda a little further away to a new warehouse on the former site of The Greenery. The German supermarket chain leases the warehouse (over 58,000 m² in total) from WDP, which redeveloped the entire logistics estate. Patrick Marczinski, project manager for warehouse management at Lidl, gives you a peek behind the scenes.
Distrilog and WDP have proved that they are two peas in a pod more than once. In 2008, for example, the millionth square metre that WDP owned was Distrilog’s in Willebroek.
The question will be whether or not Oompa Loompas and golden-tickets will be found in the municipality of Lokeren by the end of 2021.
Lantmännen Unibakes’ factory burned to the ground barely a few weeks after they took possession of their built-to-suit distribution centre in Londerzeel. Last year, the 2015 black spot led to a silver lining when Lantmännen won the Factory of the Future Award at the beginning of March 2018.
Total Exotics, a growing company specialising in ready-to-eat avocados and mangos, will soon have been housed for one year in their new warehouse in Bleiswijk. WDP helped them bring their logistics processes under one roof as efficiently as possible.
WDP built a new 30,000 m² construction project last year in Zellik for Euro Pool System, Europe’s largest logistics service provider for multi-use packaging. From this service centre, among other things, the return logistics of the distribution centre of Delhaize in Zellik take place. A logistics process that overflows with sustainability from start to finish.
