Delhaize’s logistics activities in Kobbegem are in good company, now that all of the supermarket chain’s support services have taken up residence on the Kobbegem business site. Together, they form Delhaize Valley, a hub where sustainability and efficiency are keywords.
This year, Lidl moved its logistics centre in Breda a little further away to a new warehouse on the former site of The Greenery. The German supermarket chain leases the warehouse (over 58,000 m² in total) from WDP, which redeveloped the entire logistics estate. Total Exotics, a growing company specialising in ready-to-eat avocados and mangos, will soon have been housed for one year in their new warehouse in Bleiswijk. WDP helped them bring their logistics processes under one roof as efficiently as possible.
The real estate specialist WDP is a listed company operating in several sectors and a leader on the Belgian and Dutch storage space rental market. WDP in fact caters for all sectors involved in logistics and storage. The share in the fruit and vegetables sector is about 10% No less than €120 million worth of projects had already been completed in all sectors by late June. WDP has expanded to the tune of €1 billion within the space of five years and has set its sights on the same growth target for the next five years.
